Susan Atkin

Susan came to live near Samye Ling Tibetan Centre in Scotland over 30 years ago to study and practice with Akong Rinpoche, a founder member and a highly qualified teacher of meditation and spiritual development. He also has full training and understanding of Tibetan medicine.
Since qualifying as a Tara Rokpa Therapist in 2001 Susan has developed a private psychotherapy practice in Edinburgh.

Susan works at Tara Trust, the main UK centre for Tara Rokpa Therapy at 15, Rosebery Crescent, near Haymarket station.
She also travels regularly to groups throughout Europe to present Tara Rokpa Therapy weekend workshops.

Her initial career was in teaching and working therapeutically with young people.
Her work is also informed by training and experience of Stress Management.

She has trained in working with those who have experienced trauma in their lives and who may be suffering with PTSD and other related bodily held problems.

The study and practice of Tibetan meditation, mindfulness and philosophy underpins all of her work. Susan acknowledges the personal transformative effect this has had on her own life.
